Cameron on MPs' expenses vote

The Conservative leader David Cameron has given his reaction to the Commons vote on MPs' expenses reforms.

The government won a series of votes on Gordon Brown's proposed expenses reforms but had to back down on some of them.

Mr Cameron said it was another defeat for the authority of Gordon Brown, and that it was a tragedy that "the real reforms needed had not been put in place".
