Swindon Town Football Club's major shareholder has revealed he and the club's backers have been subsidising matchday tickets by 6 each. In a rare statement from Sir Seton Wills, ahead of the club's AGM on Tuesday, he revealed the cost was incurred "during the past few years".
He added that despite price rises "the figures have grown each year".
Swindon are banking on redeveloping their town centre stadium to bring in extra finances.
Debt level
The club are currently working on a proposal for rebuilding the stadium with property developer St Modwen.
A planned new stadium at Shaw Tip site was rejected after a public outcry.
Tuesday's AGM is expected to reveal the current level of debt at the club.
In January, Swindon was served with a winding-up order after defaulting on a 600,000 VAT bill.
Sir Seton and St Modwen stepped in to loan the club the money to service the debt.
