Mrs Tomlinson has 300 miles to go |
Jane Tomlinson is to leave London for Oxford on the latest leg of her epic bike ride after breaking through the 100,000 fundraising barrier. The 40-year-old cancer sufferer has been cycling an average of 65 miles a day on a tandem with her brother Luke Goward, 39, for the last 30 days.
They have now cycled about 1,600 miles since setting off from Rome and hope to arrive in Leeds on 7 June.
On Wednesday, Mrs Tomlinson announced she had raised 112,000 so far.
"We were hoping to achieve 100,000 by the time we got off the bike. To break that figure now, five days before we finish, is fantastic," she said.
"The donations have all been from the public and it's amazing that people supported us and I'm very grateful and hopefully the funds will help other people in the future."
