Jane Tomlinson has run a series of gruelling races |
Cancer sufferer Jane Tomlinson was said to be "in a lot of pain and very weary" when she set off on her 22nd day of her mammoth biking challenge. The 40-year-old from Rothwell, Leeds, has already cycled about 1,200 miles across Italy and France with her brother Luke Goward.
When they arrive in Paris on Tuesday, they will have covered 1,350 miles.
Husband Mike said: "The journey is catching up with Jane. She's weary, in a lot of pain and exhausted."
He added: "Because of the schedule it's been necessary to have some heavy distances in middle France.
"After three weeks cycling it's not surprising that she's suffering."
 | Because of the disease her spirits are also low |
Mr Tomlinson said he is becoming increasingly concerned about his wife's health.
He said: "The cancer pain seems to be getting worse on a daily basis. It's in her lower back which means it can be difficult to get into a good position which gives some relief.
"Because of the disease her spirits are also low. Constant pain has that effect on everyone and Jane's no different."
Jane and Luke started the challenge in Rome |
When Jane arrives in Paris she will also have a reception with the British Ambassador, Sir John Holmes on Wednesday.
Mr Tomlinson said: "She will get two nights of luxury at the Embassy but it would be easy to underestimate the strength she's going to need from now.
"There's still 15 days left and it's very fraught."
So far the bike ride has raised 69,000 for charity, on top of 500,000 Jane has raised through other challenges.
She is due back in Leeds on 7 June.
