Jane Tomlinson has raised around 250,000 for charity |
Charity fund raiser Jane Tomlinson, who has terminal cancer, completed the London Marathon on Sunday in just under six hours. Her success comes two days after 38-year-old Mrs Tomlinson from Rothwell, Leeds finished a 1,060 mile bike ride from John O'Groats to Lands End.
Her 15-year-old daughter Rebecca told the BBC: "She's done really well. It was quite a good time she ran it in."
Mrs Tomlinson ran last year's London Marathon as well as a triathlon and the Great North Run.
Before this year's marathon she said it would be her last race as she wants to spend more time with her family.
Her husband Mike, who ran the marathon with her, said: "I'm absolutely amazed that she could even contemplate doing something like this.
"It's been astonishing. She only finished the bike ride and had done no training for this at all. After a 1,100-mile ride you can imagine how much it has taken out of her."
It is expected that Mrs Tomlinson will now have raised about 250,000 by her fund raising efforts.
The money is being shared by Cancer Research UK, Hannah House children's care home in Rothwell, the Paediatric Acute Services in Leeds, and Sparks which is a charity dedicated to medical research in conditions which affect children.
