Passenger numbers rise at airport
Birmingham International Airport
The airport is the fifth largest in the UK
Passenger numbers at Birmingham International Airport have risen for the first time in four months.

Airport managers have blamed the recent falling figures on the security restrictions imposed after terror alerts in the summer.

Nearly 600,000 passengers used the airport last month, which is 2% up on November last year.

Almost 950,000 people passed through in September which is 7% down on the same month last year.

A fall in numbers in August was blamed on the UK heatwave while a fall in June was blamed on the World Cup and a cargo plane crash which disrupted flights.

The airport is the fifth largest in the UK.
