Fare dodgers targeted in campaign
A rail operator is threatening to name and shame persistent fare dodgers in a campaign to reduce ticketless travel.

From Monday, extra revenue officers with Central Trains will travel on trains throughout the West Midlands and man ticket barriers.

Anyone caught travelling without a ticket will be issued with a 10 on-the-spot penalty fine.

The operator says posters featuring pictures of offenders may also be put up at stations.

Ticketless travel with Central Trains currently runs at about 6% and the firm says it also wants rail users to blow the whistle on offenders.
