Labour just shy of Redcar control

Redcar and Cleveland council remains under no overall control, though Labour made gains from all the other parties.

The Liberal Democrats lost three seats, taking their total to 13, while the independents and Tories lost one and two seats respectively.

Labour gained those six seats, but their total of 28 is not quite enough to control the council.

The Conservatives ended up with 11 seats and the independent councillors with 7.
