A Teesside hairdresser says she is delighted her shop has been used as a polling station in the local elections. Diffuse Hair Salon, in Thrush Road Redcar, was closed on Thursday to give people living nearby quick and easy access to a ballot box. The venue made a change from the usual schools and community centres which Redcar and Cleveland Council normally uses for election. Owner Kayleigh Taberner said: "I don't mind - I usually only get Sundays off." A council spokesman said: "We are very grateful to Kayleigh. We try to locate polling stations in accessible venues."
