Toilet block closure 'a mystery'
A toilet block in Guisborough has reopened after a ten-year closure.

The 80,000 refurbishment of the public conveniences in Northgate has added improvements, including disabled access and a baby change facility.

The move is part of Redcar and Cleveland Council's 200,000 three-year spending plan on public toilets.

Bob Stanway, cabinet member for environmental improvement, said: "It's an absolute mystery why these toilets have been closed for over ten years.

"I'm delighted the work is complete and that they'll be open in time for the summer visitors."
