Seven public toilets have been closed in Bath following a review |
Five public toilets in Bath have been put up for sale by the city's council. Offers are being sought for the sites, which range from an "attractive" modern structure in Combe Down to a basic breeze block building in Widcombe.
The sale follows a review of public toilets in the city, which found some were out of date and not widely used.
The council has not set a price or suggested how the sites could be used. Project officer Gordon Cornelius said the authority was "testing the water".
He said: "Some very good ideas may come forward from local residents, action groups or businesses, who may see one or all of these sites as business opportunities."

Bath and North East Somerset Council (BANES) has carried out a review of all 37 public toilets in Bath.
Seven have been closed down and BANES is seeking to transfer ownership of three others to parish councils.
It is considering investing in modern automatic toilet booths, which are easier to clean and maintain.
But property expert Alan Brook, of Bath-based Brooks Chartered Surveyors, was less than excited about the old toilets' development potential.
He described the buildings as "lemons".
"Most of these, I think, are too small to do anything with except a lock-up shop or small office," he said.
"I certainly am not going to put them to my retained clients with a recommendation they should buy."
