Bid to improve community services
Suffolk County Council
Suffolk County Council is aiming to boost uptake of services
Schemes to improve adult and community services in Suffolk have been announced.

Suffolk County Council said it wanted to give residents more choice and a faster service.

The plans include an internet-based directory of community and voluntary services called Suffolk Infolink.

An Enhanced Customer First scheme is aiming to help people access care faster by making more assessments on first contact, for example by phone.

There will also be a Home First service providing home-based assessment for people recuperating from an illness or operation.

It aims to help people assess long-term needs and maximise their independence.

Graham Newman, portfolio holder for adult and community services, said: "These pioneering improvements in the way people interact with the council should give a better service to the people who need it most.

"By giving more control and delivering a faster response, the council is showing its commitment to a better quality service for the people of Suffolk."
