Mayor's pledge over road revamp
Stoke-on-Trent's elected Mayor has said the Highways Agency will be put under more pressure over work still taking place relating to the new-look A500.

The road going through the city opened last year as part of a 40m upgrade, with work taking more than two years.

Mayor Mark Meredith said: "The Highways Agency have been contacted on a number of occasions by my officers.

"We need to put them and contractors under as much pressure as possible to get it sorted."

The Highways Agency was not immediately available to respond.
