Equipment seized at barn 'rave'
Equipment was seized by police who raided an illegal "rave" being held on land owned by the National Trust.

Amplifiers, speakers, turntables and vinyl records were seized from a barn in Abinger Hammer, Surrey on Saturday.

About 30 people were at the party when officers arrived and found damage to walls and roof of a barn at the beauty spot off Whitedowns Lane.

A lorry and a van found at the scene were being investigated. Police said no arrests have yet been made.

Checking rave sites

Pc Martin Savage said: "No-one was willing to claim ownership of either of the vehicles at the time although we believe we know who owns the lorry and the equipment.

"I am working closely with the National Trust to assess the damage and decide what course of action to take."

The two vehicles, which were stopped from leaving the site were being investigated for road tax issues, the police said.

Surrey Police have launched a crackdown on illegal raves with officers patrolling the county checking potential sites and investigating reports of the parties.
