'More effort' helps half marathon

Marathon runners
The marathon will raise money for charity.

Organisers of the Bath Half Marathon say extra resources will avoid the problems experienced in 2008.

The 13-mile run was delayed by one hour last year because of muddy conditions in the race holding area and stranded runners at park-and-ride sites.

Andrew Taylor, event organiser, says this year's event will be better because of extra effort and resources.

He said additional park-and-ride services would be provided and walkways laid for the holding area.

About 15,000 people are due to run in the event on Sunday.

Money raised will go to charity.
