Motorists face long delays
Motorists travelling through Shropshire are facing lengthy delays after a busy level crossing was closed.

The Highways Agency is carrying out what it describes as "major essential repairs" at Onibury Level Crossing.

The crossing will be closed until 23 January and diversions have been put in place.

For motorists wanting to use the crossing signposted diversions take traffic, including the heavy goods that uses the A49, east out of Craven Arms along the B4368.

Nearby, part of the A49 south of Ludlow was closed on Sunday to allow Aquila to renew electricity lines.

Traffic was only able to travel one way.
