Woman treated for possible Legionnaires
Royal Shrewsbury Hospital
The woman is said to be making good progress
A 84-year-old Shrewsbury woman, who contracted what is believed to be Legionnaire's Disease, is out of intensive care.

The woman was admitted to hospital with pneumonia but was placed in intensive care on Thursday.

She is now said to be comfortable and making good progress.

The elderly lady, from Bayston Hill, is being treated at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital where doctors said they were 90% certain she had the disease.

Health officials said there was no obvious link with the recent outbreak of the disease in Hereford.

Twenty-six cases of the disease have been confirmed in Hereford which has killed one man aged in his 70s.

The latest cases include seven men, aged between 40 and 70, and one woman aged in her 50s.
