A 84-year-old woman is in a stable condition after she contracted what is believed to be Legionnaire's Disease. The woman, who is from Shrewsbury, was admitted to hospital with pneumonia but was put into intensive care on Thursday.
She is being treated at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital where doctors said they were 90% certain she had the disease.
Health officials said there was no obvious link with the recent outbreak of the disease in Hereford.
Twenty-four cases of the disease have been confirmed in Hereford which has killed one man aged in his 70s.
The latest cases include seven men, aged between 40 and 70, and one woman aged in her 50s.
