Thousands run for cancer charity
Thousands of women have taken part in events to raise funds for breast cancer research in the biggest campaign of its kind ever staged in Oxford.

A total of 6,000 women ran in the 5km (three-mile) Race for Life events in University Parks.

Organisers staged the events on both Saturday and Sunday after a huge number of entries last year.

It is hoped Oxford's runners will raise 300,000. The races this weekend are among 162 nationwide this summer.

Marathon winner Paula Radcliffe launched the 2005 series of races in London and 425,000 women are to take part in total, with Cancer Research UK hoping to raise 23m.
