Princess Anne
Princess Anne's visit also marks Wallingford's 850th anniversary
The Princess Royal is visiting Oxfordshire to present an award and celebrate a town's 850th anniversary.

During her trip to Wallingford she will present the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service to a local charity.

Wallingford Coach for the Disabled makes about 120 trips a year, providing outings for elderly and disabled people throughout Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

The visit also marks the 850th anniversary of Wallingford being granted a charter in 1155.

The mayor of Wallingford, Councillor Lynda Atkins, said: "This is going to be a wonderful Christmas present for the town and a fantastic end to our year of celebrations.

"The town council feels very honoured that the Princess Royal will be visiting us and I am sure that everyone in Wallingford will be delighted at this news."
