Environmentally-friendly mothers can buy cheap baby clothes
New parents are being given the chance to buy cheap infant clothing - as well as to care for the environment - as a shop which recycles baby items opens.

The mobile BabyStore, run by and for Bicester parents in Oxfordshire, sells unwanted items including maternity clothes, washable nappies and toys.

The shop is backed by Oxfordshire County Council waste recycling bosses.

Its aim is to provide recyclable, clean items and raise awareness about family support networks in Bicester.

Kate Aydin, Oxfordshire County Council's waste recycling officer, said: "BabyStore aims to sell low-cost, reusable clothes and toys to families instead of sending them to landfill.

"It also encourages environmentally-friendly lifestyle choices such as composting and using reusable calico bags instead of plastic bags."

Parent Clare Kavanagh, who helps run BabyStore, said: "We hope to enable more people to buy bargain unwanted clothes and toys, and at the same time raise awareness of the need to reuse and save the environment".
