Ambulance closure plan criticised
Plans to close down ambulance stations in Oxfordshire have been criticised by a district council.

Oxfordshire NHS Trust is discussing closing down several stations, including ones in Chipping Norton and Witney.

Under the plans the stations would be replaced by units at Banbury, Didcot and Oxford.

Councillor Ian Hudspeth, Cabinet Member for Health and Community Safety for West Oxfordshire, says this could leave rural areas neglected.

Mr Hudspeth said the proposal was simply a cost cutting exercise to achieve targets at the expense of the rural areas.
