Staff caught in under-age checks
An undercover operation in Nottingham's bars and pubs found nearly half served alcohol to under 18s.

Three teenagers went with police to 27 pubs and clubs and the youths managed to get served alcohol in 11 venues.

Bar staff who sold alcohol to children have each been given an 80 penalty for breaking the law.

Police say they will shut down premises that continue to flout the law. Some of these venues were also caught in a similar operation last year.

Nine of the licensees were ordered to attend a police meeting and were told to stop under-age sales or face possible closure.

The latest operation comes after police announced a five-week zero tolerance crackdown on drink-related anti-social behaviour in the city.
