Nine post offices are closing in Nottingham |
Royal Mail is closing another two post offices in Nottingham, bringing the total number of closures in the city to nine. The decision is part of the Royal Mail's plans to close a third of its 9,000 urban post offices in the UK.
Royal Mail had earlier delayed a decision on the closure of the branches in New Basford and Thorneywood Rise, but has confirmed they will shut.
The closures mean customers will have to travel a mile to the closest branch.
The city has 53 post office branches - and a further four are threatened for closure.
The decision on the post offices on Laurie Avenue, Mansfield Road, Sherwood Rise and Monks Way are due in the next few weeks.
