Another of Nottinghamshire's post offices is to close as part of an overhaul in Royal Mail services. The Northgate premises in Newark is the fifth branch in the last 10 days to announce it is shutting.
The closures form part of a national programme to restructure and modernise the Royal Mail's network of more than 9,000 urban post offices.
The company says there are too many post offices and not enough customers and the closure of the Northgate branch would improve the long term prospects of other post offices in the area.
Last week the Royal Mail announced the closure of branches in Bobbers Mill, Old Basford, Highbury Vale and St Albans road in Nottingham.
