Man hurt in tram collision
A man has been taken to hospital following a collision between a van and a tram in Nottingham.

The tram was on a test run north from the city centre when the crash happened at the David Lane junction in Basford at around 1130 GMT on Thursday.

The van driver went to hospital with minor injuries and the tram driver was not hurt.

Nottingham Express Transit said it cleared the line and issued announcements at all tram stops.

Managers emphasised the response was part of a well rehearsed procedure.

The tram was travelling at less than 20 miles an hour at the time of the collision.

Testing has continued as normal.
