A 16.5m secondary school in Northampton is set to open on Thursday. The redeveloped Kingsthorpe Community College offers a gym and expanded food technology facilities not previously offered at the school's former base.
The school previously operated in two sites, Welford Road and Boughton Green Road, and is now based at the latter.
The building, which can accommodate 1,400 pupils is part of a 200m Private Finance Initiative project to rebuild and remodel 41 schools in the town.
The scheme is part of the town's change from three-tier to two-tier education.
Joan Kirkbride, of Northamptonshire County Council, said: "The sports hall provided by the new build is to Sport England Standard and the library and provision for the performing arts team have been greatly welcomed by the school."
