A consultation period starts next week into plans to modernise Northampton's schools after bids to carry out the work worth 100m were submitted. Bids to undertake the work to overhaul schools from a three-tier to a two-tier structure are being made by Jarvis, and Babcock and Brown.
Major building work at 40 schools across the town will be undertaken.
Throughout March schools will be given the chance to give feedback on the plan to Northamptonshire County Council.
The county's cabinet member for schools Olwen Loud said: "This is an important milestone for the transformation of schools."
"It is the first time anyone will be able to see the detailed plans for all the schools which will undergo substantial work as a result of the reorganisation."
