The 18m centre will become a centre of excellence
Work has begun on an 18m Olympic-sized swimming pool with a fitness centre and water leisure facilities in Northants.

The complex in Corby aims to become a centre of excellence for swimming, diving and synchronised swimming.

It is hoped the pool will be finished late next year and will be used by teams attending the 2012 Olympics.

The pool is part of the town's flagship Parkland Gateway Regeneration project on the edge of the town centre next to ancient woodland and meadow.
