Police in North Yorkshire will again be operating special patrols over the bank holiday weekend in a bid to cut down on road casualties. A particular target is motorcyclists who travel very fast along the county's rural roads.
Officers say their campaign, which operates over each holiday weekend, is having an effect.
The number of deaths and serious injuries on the county's roads is down by 7.6% compared with last year.
The special patrols will be using cars and motorbikes equipped with speed cameras.
Offenders will be brought before magistrates very quickly under a fast-track system agreed with the courts.
