Job losses at the University of East Anglia's (UEA) nursing school are not as widespread as had been feared. The UEA had predicted more than 20 teaching posts would be lost but only three full-time jobs have gone.
Dr Peter Kopelman, the Dean of Health at UEA said: "We have been able to keep losses to a very small number with some members of staff reducing their hours."
The �10m School of Nursing and Midwifery had to make redundancies in line with NHS funding cuts.
The purpose-built Edith Cavell building on the outskirts of the university is used by 3,000 students.
Edith Cavell was a nurse born near Norwich who helped about 200 Allied troops to escape from Belgium before she was arrested, tried and executed by firing squad in 1915.
