Park-and-ride prices could rise
Carpark queue in Norwich
About 700 spaces will be available at Cringleford
Park and ride charges in Norwich are expected to rise again as construction continues on a new site at Cringleford.

As more car parks are built, the higher the costs mount for Norfolk County Council.

Next March, the city's sixth park and ride opens on the Thickthorn roundabout at the junction of the A47 and A11, at a cost of 3.65m.

This year the daily ticket price has already risen 25p and a proposal to add another 30p would mean a 2.80 charge.

Two new tickets are also planned - an afternoon only ticket, which would cost 1, and a 25-day ticket available for 41.

Traffic volume into Norwich is expected to increase with the opening of a second large shopping mall in the city centre in 2005.

It was estimated last year that 1,800 car park spaces in the city had been lost to redevelopment projects and corrosion over a one-year period.
