Mr Gifford died the day after the shooting from a single bullet wound |
The girlfriend of a man who was shot dead in a child's bedroom has pleaded for help to catch his killers. Ernest Gifford, 45, was shot when three men entered a house on Raby Street, Moss Side, Manchester on 4 July.
His girlfriend, Amanda Hibbert, appealed to the public on Tuesday. She was in the house at the time of the shooting with her children.
"What kind of people are they to come into my house and do this where my children are?" she said.
Ms Hibbert said one of the men who entered the house, kept her with the children while they shot Mr Gifford in her nine-year-old daughter's bedroom.
'Deliberate execution'
Det Supt Martin Bottomley, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a vicious and premeditated attack."
He added Mr Gifford could have been robbed for drugs money.
"We know he was involved in small time drug dealing and had access to drugs and money.
"My view is that they forced their way into the house with the deliberate aim of robbing him and they decided they weren't going to leave empty handed and shot him".
