Fatal shooting victim 'targeted'
A murder investigation has begun after a man was shot dead at a house in the Moss Side area of Manchester.

A 45-year-old man was shot in the leg at an address in Raby Street just after midnight on Tuesday. He died later in hospital.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said three masked men walked into the house and shot the man in what officers said was a targeted attack.

The men left in the direction of Great Western Street.

Ch Supt Dave Thompson said: "This was not a random attack on an individual going about their business. It would appear the victim was deliberately targeted.

"I am urging anyone who saw anyone acting suspicious in the area around midnight to get in touch, but I am also appealing to those who know who is responsible for the murder to pick up the phone and give us a ring.

"My appeal extends to certain members of the criminal fraternity who I believe will know who was responsible for this killing and I would urge them tell us who these men are. "
