McDonald's is investigating the incident
McDonald's has launched an internal enquiry after two teenage poppy-sellers were told to move because they were "taking trade" from the burger giant.

The cadets were collecting money outside the fast food outlet in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Greater Manchester.

An employee of the fast food firm told the pair, who were accompanied by an adult corporal, to leave the area.

On Thursday McDonald's confirmed it is investigating the incident and has contacted the parents of the cadets.

A spokeswoman for the company said the incident reflected the actions of one individual and "not that of the McDonald's corporation".

David Forbes, of the Royal British Legion welcomed the enquiry and said: "I would feel that McDonald's would want to encourage rather than discourage young people doing something useful."
