Youth mob attack jury sent home
Ernest Norton
Ernest Norton died from a heart attack
The jury in the case of five boys accused of killing a father as he played cricket with his teenage son has been sent home.

Ernest Norton, 67, suffered a fatal heart attack when he was pelted with sticks and stones in Erith, south-east London, in February last year.

He was struck on the head at least twice in the incident, an Old Bailey jury has heard.

Five boys, now aged between 12 and 14, deny manslaughter and violent disorder.

They admit being at the scene and some of them admit throwing stones and sticks.

The court was told that none of them had been in trouble with the police before.

The jury will resume their deliberations on Friday.
