Windmill ready to open to public
Moulton Mill
Moulton Mill - minus its sail for now - opens on Friday
A Spalding landmark opens to the public after a 900,000 revamp on Friday.

Moulton Mill was featured on the BBC's Restoration programme where the public voted to restore historic buildings.

The 100ft-tall mill did not win but the show helped attract funding needed to finish the work. Fundraisers launched an appeal in 1995.

The sails should be refitted by the end of 2006. Trust chairman Byron Hahn said supporters can then prove a claim to be the tallest windmill in the country.

It was built in 1822 and will open to people at the end of the month. When the sails are re-installed, it will be the first time they have operated for more than 100 years.
