Village litter louts face fines
A Lincolnshire village is taking a tough approach to the problem of litter on the streets.

Neighbourhood wardens in Wyberton have been given the power to fine people 50 if they are caught dropping rubbish.

Anyone aged over 11 who is caught in the act in the village will be ordered to pay up.

The new measures have been introduced by the parish council because residents have complained about the amount of litter in the village.

Richard Austin, from Wyberton Parish Council said: "Most public places will warrant fixed penalty fines.

"I would encourage anyone to report any litter offence they see to the neighbourhood wardens.

"They can then decide whether they want to pursue it."
