Gazza chooses Boston over jungle
Paul Gascoigne in action for Boston
Steve Evans said Gazza prefers to stay in Boston
Boston United's Paul Gascoigne will not be leaving York Street for the jungle - according to the club's manager.

Steve Evans said Gazza has turned down the chance to be in the new series of "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here".

Evans was responding to reports that producers of the reality show had approached Gascoigne.

The Pilgrims boss says Gazza has declined the offer, but is due to take part in football reality programme The Match on Sky next month.

High energy

Evans said: "He was offered a lot of money to go on it but he doesn't need the money as he is already a wealthy man.

"But we are happy for him to have a commitment here and there - after all he is a very high-profile player.

"His energy is increasing every day - and he has lost a stone and a half in four weeks."

The former England player made his debut for the Pilgrims against Cheltenham as a substitute on Saturday.

Gascoigne last played at Premiership level with Everton, leaving the Merseyside club in March 2002.

He played only 58 times in the Premiership - just once more than his number of England caps.
