Gascoigne was in good form |
Boston manager Steve Evans hopes Paul Gascoigne's playing debut for the club should silence the critics. Gascoigne lasted 69 minutes of Boston's 3-1 win over Chester.
And after the match Evans said: "He has made his first start for us in League Two, which some people in the media and fans never thought would happen.
"He was superb for 69 minutes and it was one for the nuggets who have now been proved wrong," Evans told the Lincolnshire Echo newspaper.
Evans added: "I'll refrain from naming Paul too much because everyone will think it is the 'Gazza' show.
"He has worked incredibly hard to get fit and he was excellent."
