Police are sending text messages to revellers in a Leicestershire town - warning them not to drink too much. Officers in Hinckley have come up with the idea as part of a programme to tackle anti-social behaviour. The message; "It's your night out - don't spend it with us" is sent to people out in the town centre using Bluetooth technology. A series of posters and radio adverts will be used as part of the campaign which will run until the end of August. Ron Grantham, community safety manager for Hinckley and Bosworth Community Safety Partnership, said: "This campaign is not about stopping people having fun. "We are working in partnership with the local policing unit to ensure everyone enjoys the summer months safely and free from fear. "All we are saying to people is have fun, keep safe, think of others and stay within the law."
