A leisure centre in Leicester has been given the seal of approval by mothers and toddlers. The swimming pool at Aylestone has been awarded child-friendly status and will be put in a national directory.
The guide, by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) and the Institute of Sport and Recreation (ISR), lists pools suitable for young children and babies.
It includes advice about the best age for babies to start swimming, and tips about water activities for children.
Terry Sims, manager of Aylestone Leisure Centre, said: "We have worked hard to encourage parents to bring their babies to the centre for a swim. It is good for child development.
"I am delighted that our efforts have been recognised."
