Criticism of town transport plans
Proposals to revamp Loughborough's transport system have been criticised.

Leicestershire County Council has put forward several ideas for making shopping and business areas less congested over the next few years.

One includes allowing buses to run through Swan Street or Market Place using controls.

But members of Charnwood Borough Council said the plan could put pedestrians in danger and say buses should be banned from the roads.

However, the borough councillors admit this may upset bus companies.

The county council wants to submit its plans to the government in July and has been consulting local authorities.
