New investment in fire services
The fire and rescue service in Leics has announced investment plans to improve its ability to respond to a wide range of emergency incidents.

New vehicles are being introduced to deal with major transport incidents and off-road emergencies or those in difficult locations.

The force will be making improvements to all fire engines and rescue equipment over the next three months.

It will also replace all current kit which is 15 years or older.

The Fire and Rescue Service is also appointing a dedicated team of staff who will deal with complex rescue scenarios such as the collapsing of a building.
