Shake-up for fire shift patterns
Leicestershire's fire service has unveiled plans to put fewer staff on duty at what they think are 'quiet' times of the day or night.

The periods when there are fewer calls have been highlighted in a new study.

Report author Ian Cartright said it was intended to make the service more efficient, tailoring shift patterns so there are more crews at busier times.

He said: "The risk is not the same across the county, or across the hours of the day."
