The British Leyland Motor Corporation was formed in 1968
A celebration of Leyland Motors has been held in the Lancashire motoring firm's home town.

The Leyland Society Annual Gathering was held on the site of the old truck assembly plant on Saturday and Sunday.

Many of the vehicles which made the company famous will be on display over the weekend.

The only Leyland brand produced at Leyland is by Leyland Trucks Ltd which has an assembly plant at the town near Preston employing 1,000 workers.

It was taken over by US-based Paccarr Inc in 1998.
