Prince Charles enjoys a tipple during his visit
The Prince of Wales is making a return visit to the North West to celebrate a family brewery's 175th anniversary and to meet inmates at Wymott Prison.

Prince Charles is visiting the jail near Leyland, in Lancashire, where a retraining scheme hopes to reduce reoffending by 50%.

The project being visited on Monday is backed by Leyland Trucks and aims to give offenders new skills, helping them to find jobs when they are released.

The prince is making the trip as president of Business in the Community and the Prince's Trust and will get the chance to talk to inmates and meet business leaders.

Later he is expected to sample a pint at the J W Lees Brewery at Middleton Junction, Greater Manchester.

He is there to help celebrate the firm's 175th anniversary with members of the Lees family and workers.

It is hoped the prince will seal a time capsule containing memorabilia from the last 175 years before it is buried in the brewery yard.

It is the second time in recent weeks that Prince Charles has been in the region, having visited Nelson and Manchester in October.
