Two people who died in separate accidents on the same stretch of road in Kent at the weekend have been named. Andrew Church, from Grain, died after his car left the A228 near Wallend, on the Isle of Grain, and landed in a water-filled ditch on Sunday night.
Anthony Bourne, 18, from Hoo, was killed in a collision between his Ford Fiesta and a lorry on the Hoo Peninsula early on Saturday morning.
The accident happened on the A228 at Hoo St Werburgh by the Windmill pub.
There have been 33 fatal accidents on the road in the past 20 years.
Multi-million-pound improvements have taken place to make the A228 safer and further work is scheduled.
However, residents have said street lighting, signage and road marking could all be better.
