Barriers remain in place in Upton-upon-Severn |
More flood water is heading for Worcestershire and Herefordshire but it is not expected to cause any serious damage, experts have said. The Environment Agency said it believed the two counties could avoid much of the weekend's heavy rain.
However, flood warnings were still in place on the Rivers Lugg, Avon, Wye and the Severn in Worcestershire.
Flood barriers are still up across the two counties, but water levels are dropping in places, a spokesman said.
The barriers are up in Bewdley and further downstream in Upton-upon-Severn and Worcester.
The Environment Agency said flood levels have dropped on the Severn in Worcester and remain steady in Upton.
'Situation improving'
However, experts are monitoring the situation on the River Wye in Herefordshire.
The Agency said that as long as there was no more significantly heavy rain the Severn in Bewdley and Worcester would peak on Monday and later in the week in Upton.
Lisa Beechey, of the Environment Agency, said the situation was not unusual for this time of year.
She said: "This flood event is not on the scale of the summer where we saw thousands of properties flooded.
"So far only a small number of properties have been affected. The general situation is improving."
West Mercia Police have urged drivers to be careful in case they do encounter flooding or heavy rain.
They say anyone planning to travel must allow extra time for their journeys.
