Troubled liner leaves for Germany
Cruise liner Aurora docked in Southampton
Passengers paid up to 42,000 for the P&O cruise
The troubled cruise ship Aurora has left Southampton for a German shipyard where it will be repaired for 10 weeks.

P&O were forced to cancel a 103-day world cruise after problems with the ship's propulsion system.

The 200m liner will undergo repairs in the German port of Bremerhaven before returning to Southampton in April.

The company said it selected repairers Lloyd Werft as they have a proven track record with complex cases and are close to the motor manufacturers in Germany.

Passengers paid up to 41,985 each for the trip to 23 countries, but instead spent 11 days travelling around the Isle of Wight.

It is thought the cancellation of the cruise will cost the company about 20m.
